Mathematics includes the study of such topics as quantity, structure, space, and change. It has no generally accepted definition. Mathematicians seek and use patterns to formulate new conjectures; they resolve the truth or falsity of such by mathematical proof. Mathematics represents the study of basic concepts of numbers, space and quantity as well as application of these concepts in the fields of physics and engineering. Mathematical research demonstrates the interaction between various disciplines of theoretical and applied mathematics. It also combines the concept of statistics, computational science, population genetics, operations research, cryptology, econometrics, theoretical physics, and actuarial science.
