Abstract

Ultrasonic velocity, viscosity and density of solution containing transition metal acetates with poly (ethylene glycol) were determined at 303K. From the experimental values the acoustical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (β), acoustic impedance (Z), free path length (Lf), Free Volume (Vf), Internal pressure (πi), Absorption Coefficient (α/f2), Available Volume (Va), Viscous Relaxation Time (τ)and Cohesive Energy (CE) have been computed. The trend in acoustical parameters with concentration identifies the strong interaction between the solute and solvent. The variations of these parameters with composition of the mixture suggest the strength of molecular interactions in these mixtures
