Abstract

The metal complexes derived from Schiff base ligand resulted from condensation of some Amino Acid namely (DL – Alanine and DL – Threonine ) and - 4- chloro benzadehyde by using microwave irradiation . The ligands characterized by FT-IR, HNMR, mass spectrometry and CHN elemental analysis . The Ligands acts as bidentate coordinating with Ni(II)in case of [Ni(L1)2(H2O)2].H2Oand Cd (II) in case of [Cd(L2)2]. H2O type complexes using their carboxylate oxygens. The thermogravemetric (TG/DG) analysis confirm high stability for all complexes followed by thermal decomposition in different steps. Also the antibacterial activity of synthesized Schiff base and their complexes against two types of bacteria were tested.
