Abstract
Alkaline earth metal complexes of Ba, Ca and Sr have been synthesized from Schiff base (L) derived from oxayldihydrazide and 5-tert-Butyl-2-hydroxy-3-(3-phenylpent -3-yl) benzaldehyde. Structural features were obtained from their elemental analysis magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance, mass, IR, electronic, 1H NMR and ESR spectral studies. The data show that these complexes have composition of ML type. The Electronic, magnetic susceptibility and ESR spectral data of the complexes suggest a octahedral geometry around the central metal ion. Antimicrobial screening tests gave good results in the presence of metal ion in the ligand system
