Abstract
The use of 1H-indazole as anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial agents has been documented in recent patents and publications. Although many new methodologies have been reported to synthesize 1H-indazoles, a mild, general method still remains an ongoing challenge. Under different reaction conditions N-Tosylhydrazones can be used to afford a variety of indazoles. We are interested in synthesizing a range of indazoles by using environment friendly ionic liquid as solvent, co-solvent and catalyst. The synthesis of 1H-indazoles under these conditions is extremely mild compared with previous synthetic approaches and affords the desired compounds in good to excellent yields.
