Synthesis Of Nanotubes And Nanospheres Of CuSCN Using CuO As The Precursor

Abstract

Nnanotubes and nanospheres of CuSCN have been prepared by simple reactions between CuO, NH2OH·HCl and KSCN in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and gelatin respectively at 80¢J. The products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and UV-visible absorption spectroscopy. The direct transition band gaps were estimated to be 3.82 and 3.91 eV respectively according to the results of optical measurements of nanotubes and nanospheres.
