Abstract

Quinoxaline derivatives exhibit a wide range of biological activities and electron transport properties. The presence of electron withdrawing quinoxaline ring has been used in π-conjugated structures to fabricate the OLED materials. In the present investigation, vinyl benzaldehyde capped quinoxaline derivatives were synthesized using 6-methyl-2,3- difurylquinoxaline with terephthaldicarboxaldehyde via Wittig reaction. The structures of synthesised compounds were confirmed by FT-IR, 1H, 13C, 31P-NMR spectral data. The results of the antibacterial activity reveals that the target compound found to have considerable antibacterial activity with respect to gram positive and gram negative pathogens of present investigation.
