Synthesis and Evaluation of 4-(1h-Benzimidazol-2-Yl)-6-(2 Chloroquinolin-3-Yl) Pyrimidin-2-Amine as Potent Anthelmintic Agents

Abstract

A new series of 4-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-6-(2-chloroquinolin-3-yl)pyrimidin-2-amine (Va-k) derivatives were prepared and characterized by their IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral studies. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their anthelmintic activity by in-vitro method, against south Indian adult earth worms Pheretima posthuma using Albendazole as a standard drug. The mean paralysis time and mean death time were calculated for each tested concentrations of the compounds. Among all the compounds synthesized, Vb, Vc and Vd were found to be the most active compounds.
