Abstract

A novel Ni metal complex Ni(C12H12N2)3●2I●H2O has been synthesized from a solution reaction and the crystal structure has been determined by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Monoclinic, C2/c. a=12.5920(14) Å, b = 25.350(3) Å, c =12.9771(13) Å, α= 90° , β=100.912(3)° , γ=90° . V=4067.5(8). Z=4. R1 =0.1152, wR2 = 0.3725, T=293(2) K. The Ni atom is six-coordinated by six N atoms. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H...I hydrogen bonding interactions
