Spectroscopic Characterization, DNA Binding and Antibacterial Activity of Cu(II), Co(II) Complexes of Antipyrine Derivatives

Abstract

The DNA-binding properties of the Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes have been investigated by UV spectra, flourscence spectroscopy , thermal analyses and SEM . The results confirmed that the interclations of the complexes Cu(II) and Co(II) with DNA are stronger than ligand. The anti-bacterial activities have also been studied, copper complexes showed good anti-bacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
