Abstract

Commercially available sodium iodide was found to be one of the best catalyst and practically an efficient protocol for the protection of various structurally and electronically divergent aryl and aliphatic amines using (BOC)2O at room temperature is presented. The reported method is chemo selective and the products isolated in high yields.
