Revisiting the Value of Incentive Travel

Abstract

Revisiting the Value of Incentive Travel The incentive travel industry has suffered persistent scrutiny for several years. Incentive travel was portrayed by the media as a misuse of funds in a time of economic distress for most of corporate America. In fear of not wanting to be seen as mismanaging funds, incentive travel programs were either eliminated or severely cut. As a result, the value of incentive travel has been questioned. Not understanding the positive implications a successful incentive travel program provides the sponsoring company or the earners of the incentive travel has created a misperception of the incentive travel industry.
