Abstract

Photoluminescence and PhotoCatalytic Properties of Zinc doped Strontium Sulphide Nanocrystals Pure Strontium Sulphide (SrS) and Zn doped SrS nanocrystals have been synthesized by solid state diffusion method. Crystallographic characterization carried out by using powder X-ray diffractometer confirmed the single phase rock salt with average particle size in the range of 24.7 nm. Topographic and Morphological studies were carried out by using Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Transmission electron microscope (TEM) respectively. EDS studies confirm elemental composition of nanoparticles. TEM studies confirm spherically distributed nanoparticles with average size in nm range. Band gap and. Photoluminescence (PL) studies confirmed dopant dependant behavior. Photo-Catalytic activity confirms that SrS is a good degrading agent.
