Abstract
Methylene Blue immobilized resin Dowex-11 has been employed for photo catalytic decolorization of Acid Red 27 (Amaranth) dye. The effect of process parameters such as initial dye concentration, catalyst loading, pH and light intensity on the extant of decolorization have been observed. Decolorization of azo dyes using Methylene Blue immobilized resin Dowex-11 photo catalyst is a cheap method and very good alternate to replace costly traditional methods. Activity of photo catalyst remains un-affected on continuous use.
