Newer applications of 1,5-benzothiazepines and their cytotoxic and anticonvulsant activity

Abstract

1,5-Dihydrobenzothiazepines are synthesized by conventional synthesis method. The compounds have been screened for cytotoxic and anticonvulsant activity. 1, 5-Dihydrobenzothiazepines are prepared by the reaction of 1, 3-diarylprop-2-enones with o-aminothiophenol. All the products were tested for purity by TLC and characterized by elemental analysis (for carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen), IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectral studies
