Abstract
This study was carried out to determine the properties of Eğirdir Lake’s Trichoptera communities in Eğirdir Lake’s (Turkey) three different stations from April 2004 to October 2004. Totally, 69,847 individuals were caught belonging to 12 species of 5 families of Trichoptera ordo. Oecetis furva Rambur, 1825 is a new record for Eğirdir Lake. Hydropsyche bulbifera McLachlan, 1878 is thought to come from Kovada Channel that discharges the water of Eğirdir Lake. Oecetis ochracea Curtis, 1825 was identified as the most common species of research area. The relative abundance and frequency of Trichoptera species of Eğirdir Lake were evaluated and the flight activity periods of caddisfly species were determined. The sex ratios of 8 species significantly were found different from 1:1 ratio with an excess of males. Besides, the physical and chemical parameters of lake water and meteorological datas were analyzed.
