Abstract

Procedure for the synthesis of 2-(4-methoxy-phenyl) quinoline salicylic acid has been developed by the a- tosyloxylation of acetophenone with [hydroxy(tosyloxy)iodo]benzene, followed by treatment with KOH and isatin.
