Abstract

This study gives the simple green synthesis method for the preparation of copper hydroxide nanoparticles [Cu(OH)2 NPs] using Moringa Oleifera leaf extract. The biomolecules present in the leaf extract are responsible for the formation of Cu(OH)2NPs and they found to play dual role of both reducing as well as capping agents. The Cu(OH)2NPs were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), Ultraviolet-Visible spectrometer, X-Ray Diffraction Spectroscopy(XRD),Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX or EDS),Dynamic Light Scattering(DLS) and Zeta Potential. Anti-bacterial activity of green synthesized Cu(OH)2NPs shows effective inhibition against human pathogens including, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli.
