Abstract
It is well known that there is no known cure for HIV/AIDS yet HIV infection is a chronic disease whose progression to acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) varies depending on the patient's state of immunity.1 The introduction of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) in 1996 which reduces morbidity and mortality, prolongs lives and improves QoL of infected patients. HAART has dramatically reduced the development of HIV-related disease.
