From Egypt to USA: 7 years of magnetic stimulation novel innovations and excellence in neuropsychiatry

Adel Sayed Mahmoud Marei

Abstract

Magnetic stimulation is a safe and non-invasive treatment technique that will be the medical field’s next generation for treatment of various disorders. Current USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approvals for bone mal-union (1979), wound healing, depression (2008), migraine (2013) and obsessive compulsive disorder (2018). The scope of other trials includes all body systems. Let us not forget that magnetic stimulation is not only used for treatment. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is another form of magnetic stimulation that has evolved to the extent of revealing functional states of cells. Magnetic stimulation is also used to examine cortical excitability state. So what are the similarities and differences between the Middle East and the rest of the world when it comes to magnetic stimulation techniques?
