Abstract

Densities, ultrasonic velocities and viscosities of binary liquid mixtures of ethyl benzoate with o-xylene(OX), pxylene( PX) and o-chlorotoulene(OCT) have been measured at 303.15K, 308.15K, 313.15K and 318.15K temperatures over the entire composition range of mole fractions. These components are selected to study the effect of substituent and effect of certain positions on different thermodynamic parameters of the mixtures. Using these experimental values, excess molar volume (VE), deviation in adiabatic compressibility (Δβad), excess free length(Lf E) and deviation in viscosities(Δη) are calculated. These excess parameters are fitted to Redlich-Kister type polynomial equation. The values of parameters obtained are calculated along with the standard deviation (σ).
