Abstract
During the last couple of decades, the excessive use of wireless digital technology has elevated the levels of Electromagnetic Radiations (EMR), among these; the use of mobile phones has tremendously increased in recent years. This mini-computer in our pocket has each and everything, to begin with the morning alarm, then reminders throughout the day, watching different videos of preparing healthy foods, news of the world and ending our day by scrolling news feed on social media while sitting on the couch or in the bed. However, according to a report of Health Physics Society, high frequency radiations have a negative effect on plant growth, development and amount of damage is proportional to the amount of radiations received. Therefore, a study was planned to investigate the effects of mobile radiation on morphological (germination, seedling length, fresh weight, dry weight, relative water content) and biochemical (protein content, guaiacol peroxidase, lipid peroxidation) parameters of wheat (HD-2967). The current study showed variable results that the cell phone radiations caused significant increment in germination, seedling length, fresh weight, dry weight and relative water contents. MDA contents, Guaiacol Peroxidase and Protein content were increased in stressed seedlings as compared to unstressed seedlings.
