Abstract
4-Amino-N (5,6-dimethoxy-4-pyrimidinyl)benzene sulfonamide, (SDX) sulfadoxine was reacted with Ag and Pt. The products were characterized by elemental (CHN) analysis, FTIR, conductance measurements, electronic spectra, NMR (1H and 13C) spectra. All complexes were investigated for their antibacterial activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and were also screened for DNA cleavage. Most complexes have higher antimicrobial activity than Sulfadoxine and complete cleavage of CT-DNA.
