Abstract
The paper uses Arduino Microcontroller to design a Modified Sine Wave Inverter. It employs Fourier transform tomathematically analyse its harmonic contents. It was shown that by eliminating third harmonics present, distortionscan be reduced. The paper employs step by step methods to design various stages having, Transistor and MOSFETswitches. Arduino codes were written using digitaWrite() and delayMicroseconds() functions in its IntegratedDevelopment Environment IDE to generate drive waveforms. It highlights how Arduino sketch could be compiled andhex files generated for simulation in Proteus ISIS. Power Transformer Simulation technique was explained. It is believedthat proliferation of Inverter technology will enhance economic prosperity especially in the third world countries wheredearth of electrical energy is being experienced. The design includes Liquid Crystal Display for the display of generatedvoltage and frequency. It is recommended that future improvement could be improvement in Liquid Crystal Displayfunctions with robust programming that would foster ease of interactions between the device and the users.
