Abstract
Industrial revolution contributed to many changes in Europe including change in demographic patterns. Such a change in population patterns gradually lowered childbirth, and increased aging population. Access to medications, hospital services, and invention of medicines for family planning, all helped in lowering childbirth. Such a change was accompanied by increasing employment of women in business and industries. So, in this way, many women could access economic independence followed by better health and longer life expectancy in Europe. Such a great change which had its origins in industries, transferred to some parts of Asia as Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan etc., brought about a different population in these countries. Currently, they are good symbols of development in the region. Change in population patterns in Asia has contributed to a great change in their economic performance, economic growth, their GDP, and the entire lifestyle of their populations. Population policy and planning is currently a part of population's life in these Asian countries. Such ICONS in Asia have attracted the attention of other countries in the region. Fifty years ago or earlier, poverty was quite wide among all classes of people, life span was short, marriages happened very early, and as a result, TFR was very high within families. Similarly, maternal mortality was high among the the married women.
