Adsorption of Cobalt on Granular Activated Carbon by Complexation with Surface Functional Group

Abstract

The present study is carried out for the removal of cobalt from aqueous solution using different commercial grades of Granular Activated Carbon namely F-816, and F-200 with 3, 5-Dinitrobenzoic acid at temperature 25 ± 10C. The adsorption isotherm of cobalt on Granular Activated Carbon has been determined and the data fitted reasonably well to the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm for activated carbon
