A. Karuppasamy, P. Muthirulan

Abstract

In the present investigation shows the adsorption k inetics and dynamics for the removal of Brilliant G reen (BG) dye on various low cost adsorbents derived from agricul tural waste by bath experiment. Various experimenta l process parameters such as effect of initial concentration, contact time, dose of the adsorbents, pH of the so lution and particles size of the adsorbents. Langmuir and Freu ndlich isotherm models indicate that the adsorption coverage is monolayer. Various kinetics models were also studie d and the system obeyed first order kinetic model. The adsorption capacity of the various adsorbents is CA C>LPC>TSC>DSC>PSC. From the results of the present study it is concluded that the maximum percentage removal of BG dye is possible with low-cost adsorbents lik e LPC,TSC,DSC and PSC which are better alternate to C AC.
