Abstract

Benzathine penicillin G is specified for intramuscular (IM) administration. There have been reports of unintentional intravenous (IV) administration, which has been associated with cardiorespiratory arrest and death. This article reports on a case of involuntary IV administration of benzathine penicillin G instead of IM injection.
